Networking and Marketing

Who you know and who knows you are essential for success

You must know some basics of marketing! Some may already be immersed in marketing and others barely aware. Or totally clueless.

Example, don't just send someone a link. Make it personal. Make sure it's of interest to the recipient. Basic courtesy and more, ok.

You don't want to be a spammer!

I thought everyone knew the basics, but alas, not true.

  • I was just spammed by an online friend who merely wanted to turn me onto a band with a very cheesy youtube vid and music that is not my style.

Do not go there.

Instead, get an overview here.

  • Basic rules for online netiquette
  • Find and Attract your Target Market

Get access to Events, Venues and Bands

  • Networking Before, During, After Shows & Events
  • Get Published Online and Print
  • Online Galleries and Blogs
  • Social Media
  • Email List

This is just the tip of the iceberg, but a good overview if you are new to marketing or want to pick up some ideas.

You'd be surprised how much is packed into this Workshop that you will not find elsewhere. Or much hard to find!

"I think it is great that you are going the online teaching and coaching route. Your talents and skills will helpful to many!" ~ Jennifer Posner Lehner, The Front Row

Everyone wants something for free. It's up to you to determine the value of your time and money.

You'll get some solid, first-hand tips who walks this walk!

  • Contracts and Invoices
  • ecommerce Stores
  • Sell and exhibit prints in galleries, events, online
  • Photo Agencies

  • Legal and other issues for merchandising clothing and other items

Basic Legal Issues

Every solo/entrepreneur, a content creator, who provides a product or service, needs to have a basic awareness of some business and legal issues.

It's all about protecting your work. My focus is primarily on your visuals. A brief introduction to potential issues, whether you create images, license from others, or a combination.

Too often people turn to attorneys who are not experienced in IP or Intellectual Property. I've seen bad advice online from attorneys who lack specific experience in IP.

It's cost effective to be aware of some legal issues. It's vital to know how to find additional reliable information.

Then consult an attorney when needed and financially feasible. Or proceed on your own, based on your research.

  • Do Not Get Sued or Get a Cease and Desist Letter because you used your work or IP of others in ways which might be illegal
  • Copyrights Protect Your Work
  • Watermarking to Protect Your Work: Pros and Cons
  • Restrictions Taking & Using YOUR Photos or Art
  • Insurance
  • (IRL) In Real Life Assistants
  • Virtual Assistants & Interns
  • Resources

I do not provide specific legal advice. I merely share a few basic topics for you to explore as you wish.

“We were contacted by a large organization with press, radio and other media coverage within first month after Jenny Lens redesigned our ecommerce site.

Our site rarely displayed by Google til she performed her magic! I couldn’t buy media coverage like that for what I paid Jenny. She organized info, provided search engine strategies, a total facelift and trained me to use it.

We were in business 12 years and no large company ever found us. Our previous ecommerce site was a mess, badly designed and hard to find info. Always a pleasure working with Jenny. Brightest, most energetic person I know. Fun too. She’s tough, but results worth it!” ~Mark Martinez, graphic artist and designer
